A Theif at such a young age!

Well, The kids are watching Page Master before bed. I noticed that Jenny was asleep with a sucker in her hand when I put Sam on the couch. I did not think anything of it and went back to the computer. Then I heard this sucking sound coming from Sam, and for the life of me could not figure out what she was doing just by the sound of it. This is how I found her ... cuddled up to the sleeping Jenny, sucking on Jenny's sucker, so proud of herself!

The battle of the koolaide

Well, my son got off the bus and Jenny decided that she wanted to get something to drink. I told her that I would get it for her after I went through the contents of Ryan's bag.

Then I heard a big splash.

I went into the kitchen to find over half of the gallon of grape koolaide in, on and in front of the refrigerator.

They did not get anything to drink.

Have I ever mentioned that I do not like cleaning the refrigerator? It is true. I usually make Darrell do it. I had to do it today, because there is no way I am going to be able to wait for him to do it.

So I did it.

It is amazing all of the places purple Koolaide can go.

And thank goodness it is the time of the week that the refrigerator is empty. I usually do my shopping on Fridays.

My climbing child

Well, I am letting the kids play outside in the backyard, just keeping the door open so I can hear and see what is going on. It got quite and we all know what that means! The girls were up to something they were not supposed to be. I found them climbing on the woodpile next to our fence. by the time I had the camera Jenny was not on the wood anymore. Sam had been in the lead, so she was at the top and wanted help down.

I sure do have climbers don't I?

My messy kids

Here are some interesting pictures I have taken recently.

They love the back yard!

Ryan had decided to make his own mud puddle with the hose. I have more pictures of them in the shower which will be great when they are older! All three were covered in mud, and I hosed Ryan and Jenny off. They were not very happy about that. Maybe they have learned their lesson and are not going to do it again. At least Ryan says that he agrees with that!

Sam had gotten hold of my symphony bar when I was in the shower, and she was quite pleased with herself!

I also caught her with the flour.

And of course the classic spaghetti picture!

The virtues of no carpet

I have started on the cleaning again now that I am getting over my cold and I find myself giving thanks that I do not have carpet.

I had play dough, peanut butter and jelly, freezer pops, crackers, cereal, oatmeal, mac and cheese, juice, rice, etc. on the floor of my dinning room and living room. All I had to do was to sweep and mop slightly, and it was all cleaned up. No worries about how to get that stain out, or that stickiness.

I LOVE MY FLOOR!

My Husband, The Good Samaritan

My husband likes to help people. But sometimes, it can be scary. Like last night.

When he got home from work he was sorta, but not waking me up. He realized I was really asleep and was turning off the lights when there was a sound that woke me up VERY quickly. We heard a screech and a crash outside our door, and Darrell went running, with me not far behind. When I got outside, Darrell had made it to the car and was trying to see if they were ok, but the passenger got out and started threatening him. Saying stuff like, "back off man, go inside, I can kill you..." you know, stuff like that. As soon as I heard the "kill" word, I ran back inside and called 911. In about 2 more minutes, Darrell was back inside, thankfully, and then about 1 minute later there were 4 cop cars outside surrounding the slightly wrecked car. Oh, and there was another car that stopped and started roughing up the other cars guys getting all mad that the car was wrecked and then tried to move it, to no avail. They knew that the cops would be there soon, so everyone left except the driver of the car, and I think the cops just missed them.

You know, I thought that I had had enough excitement and entertainment for the day. Apparently someone else had a different idea.

Once the adrenaline rush was gone, we finally went to bed at about 12.

What a way to end the day!

The good, the bad, and the angry

Well, lets start with the angry. This last week I have been trying really hard to not go out and buy more groceries, going over our budget. I can go and buy again tomorrow. Anyway, My wonderful hubby took the last of the bread without telling me, and I promised the girls that I would make PBJ. If I had known, I could have made some bread in the morning.

Mamma wasn't happy.

The bad is two fold. I have a cold, and apparently I have been run down, so I am taking it REALLY hard - starting today. The second part has to do with the brakes on hubby's car. So, they would not give me a quote over the phone. That meant that I had to take it, transfer the car seats and be driven home just to wait for 5 hours. When they finally called, the price was astronomical!!!!! At least that is what I think, because we have never gotten our brakes changed in a shop. Usually hubby does it, but with the two jobs and all, it is difficult at best. Anyway, they told me that they checked all of the brakes, and to do everything that needs to be done it was over $700!!!!! And when I said that we did not have that much, he told me that if we were just to change the brake pads that it would be just over $200. I know how much the parts cost, and that is just RIDICULOUS! In my humble opinion. Not to mention that we really do not have the funds for that considering the water heater, which I will get to in the next paragraph. So, on Saturday during hubby's 6 hours off, my father in law is going to help him change over the brakes. For a lot less.

That was the bad.

And now for the good. Our water heater started leaking yesterday. Thankfully, we went ahead and got a warranty on our home when we bought it. So, tomorrow, we are going to be getting a new water heater for $110. Instead of the $890 the plumber told me it would have been without the coverage.

I like the warranty people today.

So, that pretty much sums up my 29th birthday.

And I laugh. :)

Food blog

Well, I am now a member of a food blog. It is a new link here to the left, called "Wanna Be Foodies: friends don't let friends eat junk". This is the first one I have been a member of and I am excited!

singing to the tune of "Snowman" - In the house she melted, melted, melted....

So, I am not sure if I have already mentioned this, and I am too lazy to look back, so oh well.

Since I have been in this house I have lost as much as 20 lbs. At the moment, because of Christmas it is a 17 lb. weight loss. I am actually below my pre-pregnancy weight for Ryan!

*Jumping for Joy*

I went and got some clothes that fill the other day, and it is amazing what that does for reality. I knew that I was losing weight, and that my clothes did not fit anymore (2 sizes too big), but it was actually real once I got into clothes that fit. And then some are starting to get loose again. Really.

And I have done nothing but live in a house with stairs. Good move eh? And to think I fought the move tooth and nail when it was happening!

Anyway, I am at a plateau now, so I think that when it starts to not be so cold outside, I will start walking. We have a great neighborhood for that. But right at this moment it is 30 degrees out. And let me tell you, waiting for the bus this morning was a bit chilly!

OH, and as another note, since I have not mentioned it lately, I LOVE MY HOUSE!!!! I love it more and more as time goes on. And I am more able to appreciate what I have since it is clean, as I mentioned in my last post. And it is amazing to have a place for everything! I am loving the toy closet even more today. It is amazing also what a night of sleep will do for perspective! I have a problem with seeing all of what I have accomplished unless I leave that area for a while, but it is great to come back and see it later!

Anyway, have a wonderful, splendiferous day my friends out there!

(gee, can you tell I am happy?:) )

the curiousness of a clean house

Well, it has happened. All of the floors in the house are clean. And have stayed that way for 4 days. And the dishes are done. And the laundry is done. And I even semi organized the toys and put them in the closet under the stairs for their new home.

I am now bored.

I never knew how much energy I was putting into NOT cleaning my house.

WOW.

I do not have the urgency to read my books. I do not feel the need to hide in computer games. No need to watch one of our movies, or rent from Redbox. I am mostly happy with myself.

This is weird!

Now, do not think that I am done with organization of my house though. I still need to pick up my new sewing room and organize the closets and the garage needs to be cleaned out as well. But I have a schedule now and I am planning on sticking to it. I am going to do a project in each part of the house twice a week. I think that it is going to work.

A big part of this I think has to do with Jenny going to school now. She is gone from 8:10-12:10. And Sam takes a nap from about 9:30-12:30 in the mornings. That is a lot of time to myself. I have not had that much consistent time to myself since before kids.

again I say WOW!

Maybe this whole clean house thing will stick. What do you think? ;)
