Long Time, No See

Well, it has been a long time, now hasn't it?

The Past

This last year has been eventful.  But you already know that from the last entry I made on this blog.

Since the last time I wrote, we have had several injuries.  Last October, Samantha sliced her heel at church and ended up with 8 stitches.  There was no permanent damage, however, she will have a huge scare on her heel for the rest of her life.  I am sure that this will not be the last for her. :)  In April, Meagan decided that she didn't want to be in the high chair at CiCi's Pizza anymore, and ended up falling and breaking her collar bone.  She is fully healed and doing well now.  The next week I was involved in a car accident.  Besides a little bit of whip lash, I was unharmed, thankfully.  In May, Ryan fell while using his Heelies at a skate park and broke his left arm.  Luckily he didn't have to have a cast.  He is fully healed and doing well now.  In June, Eric got on the wrong side of a chicken, and had his eye pecked.  No major damage there, but it was of concern.  We just did a follow up with the eye doctor, and found out that he has 20/20 vision, and there are no problems with his eyes.

In the last year we have had all of our birthdays.  Darrell turned 35, which was a little bit bigger of a deal than we would have thought.  Samantha turned 5 and Jenny turned 7.  Meagan had her first birthday.  I turned 33, which, now that I think about it, is kind of fun.  Ryan turned a decade and Eric hit the terrible threes, which for him are not as terrible as the twos.

The Present

Currently we are in summer break from school.  Ryan graduated from grade school, Jenny finished up 1st grade, and Samantha finished up kindergarten.  They all did a fabulous job, and are having fun relaxing during  summer break.

I started working on my weight at the beginning of May.  I am using the beach body videos and time at the pool to help me lose 100 lbs.  I have already seen a difference in myself, though I haven't lost as much weight as I would have liked to at this point.  I am also a part of a biggest loser challenge that started on June 1 and will run for 8 weeks.  It will be interesting to see how I fair! :)  My big reward for losing 100 lbs is going to be a trip to Oregon.

I am also a Pampered Chef Consultant. I have not really done much for my business yet, but I am planning on spending more time with it this summer.

The Future

There are a lot of things that I would like to work on.  I am not going to list all of them off for you, however, I am going to use this blog to help me along in this process.  I look forward to sharing my life with all of you again. :)

Holy smokes! I don't know how I missed your posts last year. Sounds like it's been a crazy, rough ride! I'm so glad you've all survived relatively unscathed. :) Good luck with your weight loss goals! Going off gluten and dairy made a huge difference for me, for what it's worth. ;)
