About Kindergarten

Well, I went to register my first born for kindergarten yesterday. People talk about how hard of a transition it is going to be for me and all that, but I just had not felt it ... until we arrived at registration. Then it just hit me that my little boy who has never been away from me for any regular amont of time is now going to be gone for 8 hours of the day and I started to tear up. I never thought that I would do that, but there it is!

I do feel a bit better about him going to kindergarten in an academic sense now to, because they did have a bit of an orientation and went through what their day is going to be looking like. He is such a smart kid and I have been afraid that he will get bored, but I think that this school is going to be great for him! It will be interesting to see how he reacts to being in school! He just turned 5 two weeks ago and was very dissapointed when we had to explain to him that no, he was not going to school yet! I am grateful that he is so excited to go to school!

This is moving me into a brand new phase as well. I will just have the two girls during the day, and I think that my days will be quite different beginning in August! I think that it will be fun. We shall so how my 2 1/2 year old reacts to not having her brother there to play and fight with!

I'm not looking forward to that phase either. It will be so hard. Watching your kids grow is so exciting yet sad at the same time.
