The final looks

Well, I think that we have found our house this week! We are going to be going back to look at these 5 homes, and they are in the order of my favorite to least favorite.

#1 - reminds me a lot like home! If you know the Freemans, it reminds me a lot of their floor plan. You do not find a house like this often in Texas. It has a huge crawl space under the living, kitchen, dinning area. It does have a lot of stairs. It is also about 100 yards away from the neighborhood pool. It has a good front and back yard. It has been on the market for 1 month.

#2 - is practically new. It is the biggest house on our list. It is on a coul-d-sac, which is nice. It has great living areas as well. We could make it into a 4 bedroom if we wanted to. It has been on the market for 2 1/2 months.

#3 - is DH's favorite. It is a one story with a huge master and a huge living room, with an add on in the back for another living area. It might be in the 100 year flood plain which is not so good. It has been on the market for 2 months.

#4 - has a great floorplan, and new carpet. It is on a somewhat main road, but the driveway makes up for that - the kids would have a lot of room to play still. Great back yard. Only one living area though, but a huge master. It has been on the market for 5 months.

#5 - another great floorplan, and it has two living areas. Nice and clean back yard. They say that they have redone the kitchen, but it could use another redo!:)

Hopefully we are going to be going and looking at these properties again on Monday and making a decision in the next day or so. I just hope that someone does not put an offer in before us!

Are you KIDDING me?? Less than $100K?? Something like that in the DC area would cost - no lie - about a million dollars. 700 square foot condos on a really busy street cost at least $300K. We'll be lucky if we can rent a townhouse out in the suburbs somewhere if we stay in the DC area.

You are SO LUCKY to be able to get a house. Congrats on finding some good ones that you like, and good luck with the home purchase!
