Well, we were able to get Jenny evaluated for speech this week. First they did an all around evaluation to see if she qualified for PPCD. Well, she did not. So today we evaluated her just for speach. She definitedly qualified. In order to qualify she would have to be below the 7% of her age group in speech. She fell at or below the 1%. I am glad that she qualified, because I strongly believe that she needs it, and now we know that it is for good reason. She is SO intelligent though. In fact she has started naming letters of the alphabet - she did it for the assistant principal today right after she had been evaluated and before our ARD meeting. Even though my children seem to have issues with speech while young, I am grateful that they are so intelligent otherwise. Sometimes I wonder if that may be a factor in their troubles. They know everything in their head, and they have so much rattling around in their brain so quickly, that they are not able to articulate it so well. I am just so grateful that we were able to get her quailfied! :)
